Wrestling With the Divine: What Mars and Chiron Are Awakening in You
The pain is real, and on purpose
Hi friends, welcome in.
We’re stepping into a brand new year—and a month that carries both building intensity and the potential for powerful new beginnings. But in order to truly turn the page, we have to look back. We must reflect on where we’ve been and ensure we’re not dragging the weight of old stories into a chapter that’s asking for something more aligned, more honest, and more whole.
Let’s be real: the current skies are not exactly soft. They’re raw. They’re tender. It might feel like stepping barefoot onto shards of old glass—pieces you thought you'd already swept up. But hear this:
It’s not random. None of it is.
There’s purpose in every ache, every trigger, every revisit of something you thought you'd long buried. The sky is alive with messages, and while today we’re going to talk about
Chiron, know that this is part of a bigger dialogue between your soul and the universe. And that conversation? It’s always happening on time.
Your perspective—your willingness to listen and engage—is what shapes the story.
Chiron: The Wound and the Way Through
Some of you have met Chiron before. For others, this might be a new name.
Chiron is technically an asteroid, orbiting between Saturn and Uranus—between structure and chaos. But chaos, in astrology, is not destruction for the sake of pain. Chaos is creation undone, so that something deeper, more true, can rise.
When you first hear the name Chiron, it might sound like a sci-fi villain or mythical place. And in a way, it is. Chiron is cosmic, archetypal, deeply personal. It’s the wounded guide.
The one who shows up just when you think you’ve lost your way. The one who knows the terrain of pain—but also the medicine hidden inside it.
Many of you know I used to write YA and paranormal novels. And even if you’re not a reader of that genre, you know the story arc I’m talking about:
The main character starts to change. Something supernatural arrives—awakening new powers, yes, but also unraveling the life they thought they knew. They’re terrified. They feel broken. They wish things could go back to how they were.
And then—just when they’re about to give up—a guide shows up.
This person has been through it. They’ve endured their own transformation. And they say,
“Yep, this is hard. But this is the becoming. You’re not dying. You’re becoming.”
That energy? That’s Chiron. And that’s where we are right now.
A Powerful Lineup: Sun, Venus, Mercury, Mars Square Chiron
Currently, Chiron is at the final degrees of Aries, preparing to enter Taurus later this year, and then retrograde back into Aries for one last pass.
But before it leaves this fiery sign of identity, courage, and self-assertion, the cosmos is lining up a powerful initiation:
The Sun
Venus
Mercury
Mars
All are squaring Chiron this week.
These are activations. The kind you feel.
You may notice an old wound surfacing. You may find yourself asking:
Why does this still hurt? Why can’t I get past this?I thought I already healed this—why is it back?
It could be a song, a name on your screen, a memory. Someone invites you to do something, and your body says no—not because it’s wrong, but because that terrain still holds pain.
You want to get to the next chapter. But there’s a valley to walk through first. A darkness that must be met—not ignored—so that the light on the other side is earned.
And here’s the deeper truth: This wound? It doesn’t go away. Not in the way you may want. This is scar tissue. Soul scar tissue.
What Is Your Chiron Story?
We all have one.
And it’s not the polished, Instagrammable version of your life. It’s the “before.”The shattered, messy part. The “I don’t know if I’ll survive this” chapter.
But here’s the twist:
Chiron is not here to break you. It’s here to initiate you.
It drags you—sometimes kicking and screaming—through a door into a part of yourself you didn’t know existed.
And if you know your Chiron sign, even just the element, you can start to name the terrain of your wound:
🌱 Earth Signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn)
Wounds around worth — feeling safe, grounded, or deserving in the material world.
Feeling like you must earn love or success.
Struggling with your body or sense of value.
Needing to fix everything to feel secure.
💨 Air Signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius)
Wounds around expression — voice, mind, identity as seen by others.
Feeling silenced, unheard, or misunderstood.
Losing yourself to keep peace.
Hiding your truth to be accepted.
🌊 Water Signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces)
Wounds around emotion — love, trust, sensitivity.
Fear of abandonment.
Trust betrayed.
Feeling too porous to protect yourself.
🔥 Fire Signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)
Wounds around identity and courage — being seen, taking up space.
Feeling like your truth is “too much.”
Fear of shining or being punished for what you believe.
Fighting for visibility, for existence itself.
And then there’s the house—where it all plays out. Your voice? (3rd house)Your relationships? (7th house)Your purpose? (10th house)It’s layered. It’s mythic. It’s deeply personal.
But when you stop running from it and start walking with it, it becomes part of your power.
Mars Square Chiron: The Warrior Meets the Wound
Among all these activations, one deserves special attention: Mars square Chiron.
Mars is action. Drive. Will. Chiron is the sacred wound.
When these square off, it’s a transformation through pressure.
Mars is currently in Capricorn—a sign that knows how to work hard, face reality, and build what lasts. Chiron, still in Aries, represents the part of us trying to believe: I exist, I matter, I can act on my own behalf.
This transit can feel like a battle between instinct and fear. The part of you that wants to go for it, and the part that whispers, “You’ll just get hurt again.”
But this is where the power lies:
It’s your inner warrior, looking directly at your inner wound, and saying:“Show me what you’re made of.”
The Wound That Renames You
This moment reminds me of Jacob in the Bible.
The night before he reunites with his twin brother Esau—whom he tricked and robbed years before—Jacob is alone. He’s terrified. He’s not sure he’ll be forgiven. He’s already left the life he built, and he doesn’t know if he can go home.
And in the dark… something comes for him.
Not to comfort. Not to soothe. But to wrestle.
All night long, Jacob fights. With an angel. With God. With his shadow.
It’s holy. And brutal.
And Jacob doesn’t give up. Even when his hip is torn. Even when he’s marked forever.
By morning, the angel says:
“You are no longer Jacob. You are Israel — the one who wrestled with God and lived.”
He walks away limping. Not healed. But transformed.
That’s Chiron. That’s Mars square Chiron.
How to Meet the Wound With Love
So, how do we meet it?
Not by pretending it’s gone. Not by acting like it doesn’t hurt.
But with love.
Imagine yourself at the age when the wound first opened. Five. Fifteen. Thirty.Whatever it was. Picture it.
Now walk back into that memory—not to change it, but to hold it differently.
Sit beside your younger self. Hold their hand .Say the words they never heard:
“You didn’t deserve that. You’re still lovable. This isn’t the end.”
You’re not broken . You’re becoming.
Meeting the wound with love means calling your power back from the places it got stuck. From the people who couldn’t hold it.From the moments that made you doubt yourself.
It means recognizing that the limp you carry is sacred.
The Threshold
This story will shift. Later this year, Chiron will enter Taurus. The wound will shift from Who am I? to Am I safe to be me?
But right now, the invitation is clear:
Start living like someone who deserves to be here. In your skin.In your voice. In your worth.
So if it’s hurting this week… don’t run.Sit with it.
Ask:
What are you here to teach me?What do you want me to stop hiding?
And then trust that this pain—the very one you thought would undo you—is your medicine.
Because not long from now, someone will come to you. Heart cracked open. Story just beginning. And you will be the one who says:
“Yeah, I’ve been there. It hurts. But this is the way through. And you, my friend… you’re becoming something real. Something powerful. Something true.”
Chiron is not the end. It’s the middle. It’s the turning point.
You are not stuck.
You’re crossing a threshold. And on the other side… is you.
More whole than you’ve ever been.
Take care of your heart this week . And remember: you are not alone.
